known as the queen of hills,
this charming hill station, 34
kms. From Dehradun is situated
at an altitude of 2,500 mts.
Above sea-level. Enchanting view
of pine covered hill slopes and
snow capped mountains leave an
indelible impression on one's
mind.The modern bungalows, malls
and well laid gardens which are
located on the small hills
around the area are enough to
attract any tourist.

Dehradun
Nestled in the mountain
ranges of the Himalaya, Dehradun
is one of the oldest cities of
India and is recently declared
as the Provisional Capital of
newly created Uttaranchal State
in the month of Nov’2000. Also
known as the ‘Adobe of Drona’,
Dehradun has always been an
important center for Garhwal
rulers which was captured by the
British. It is a favoured
tourist destination as it
attracts tourists, pilgrims and
enthusiasts from various walks
of life to its serene environs.
Add to this the abundance of
special Basmati rice, tea and
leechi gardens which contribute
in turning the city into a
paradise.
Corbett
Corbett National Park is one
of the greatest National Parks
in Asia with over 1300 sq kms of
forests, hills and grasslands,
fed by a frisky river. Its
proximity to Delhi and prolific
wildlife makes Corbett one of
the must visit destinations in
India. A biodiversity that is
rich, rare and precious, it is
the perfect habitat for the
tiger, elephant, hog deer and
many other species. Another
attraction much to angler's
delight is the Ramganga River
that flows through the park with
fattened Mahseer hidden within
its water.
Nainital
Nainital is 34 Km from
Kathgodam, the gateway of Kumaon
and the terminus of North
Eastern Railway. It is 304 km
from Delhi, capital of India,
and 388 km from Lucknow. in a
valley of the Gagar range
running east and west, which is
bounded on the north by the peak
of China, which rises to a
height of 8.568 feet, continued
by the Alma peak (presently
known as Snow-View) and the
Sher-Ka-Danda to the eastern
extremity, where the ridge
descends almost to the level of
the lake. On the west the rugged
hill of Deopatha rises to a
height of 7,987 feet, and on the
south Ayarpatha attains an
elevation of 7,461 feet
diminishing gradually towards
the east.
Ranikhet
Ranikhet is surrounded by a
number of tourist spots.
Chaubatia is famous for its
orchards; Tarikhet, around eight
kilometers away, was once the
nerve center of the Freedom
Movement against the British.
Mahatma Gandhi also lived here
for sometime.The snowy peaks of
Majkhali presents a fascinating
view. Upat, about six kilometers
from Ranikhet, has an exquisite
golf course. Kausani, 32 miles
from Almora, is situated at a
height of 1,890 meters. Binsar,
about 32 kilometers from Almora
is situated at height of 2,412
meters above sea level. The
Chand Rajas used to spend their
summer here. It offers a
wonderful view of the Himalayas.
Almora
Almora, a picturesque
district in the Kumaun region,
East of Uttaranchal in India,

Kausani
Kausani standing 1890 meters
high above the sea level is
nature's own reserve. The father
of nation Mahatama Gandhi
contemplated on the beauty of
this region and called it
"Switzerland of India." Several
snow capped peaks such as Bunder
Poonch, Chaukamba, Neel Kant,
Badrinath, Kedarnath, triple
peaks of Trishul, pyramid shaped
peak of Nanda Devi, the pole
shaped Nanda Kot, five peaks of
Panchachuli and many more are
visible from this heavenly land.
The glory of the snow crowned
Himalayan range reaches its
pinnacle when the sun-rays turn
them into crimson and gold.
Mahatama Gandhi who spent 12
days in 1929 at Kausani, penned
his commentary on Anashakti Yoga
inspired by the scenic beauty of
this richly gifted spot and
found it more bewitching than
Switzerland and even wrote
poetic prose about Kausani in
his publication "Young India".
Haridwar
Haridwar located in the
foothills of the Himalayas,
represents the point where the
Ganga reaches the plains.
Haridwar is an ancient
pilgrimage site, held in
reverence for centuries. The
Chinese pilgrim Hyuen Tsang who
visited India in the first
millennium CE, describes
Haridwar as Mayura, on the
eastern banks of the Ganges.
Several temples and ashrams dot
this town and a visit to
Haridwar is like stepping into a
totally different world. Legend
has it that Bhagiratha, brought
the Ganges into the earth, and
into this point where his
ancestors were burnt to ashes by
the curse of the sage Kapila.
Kapilastaan, a spot in Haridwar
is pointed to as Kapila's
hermitage. Haridwar was once
known as Gangadwara.
